The proposed liquidators of Sumners MediaCity are to auction off the company’s assets.

sumnersJP Surveyors has been appointed to hold the online auction of all the “unencumbered equipment of the company.”

In total 500 lots are included in the catalogue, from Apple Mac computers to hard drives, monitors, furniture and the famous “Sweet Trolly.”

It was announced that Sumners had called in a firm of liquidators last month. Staff were told that work on CBBC series, World’s End had been transferred to Timeline TV North. Another company would also be finishing off The Dumping Ground.

The company was founded in 1992 by Andy and Janet Sumner. At its peak, it was the largest post production company outside of London, turning over £5m. However, by 2012, things took a downward spiral, with a third of its workforce being laid off and then it moved to smaller premises at MediaCityUK.

The auction lots can be viewed on Friday 22nd August, with the auction closing on Tuesday 26th August.
