Aardman and Rebellion Games vet joins Manchester ecommerce 3D AI pioneer for launch day

Voxelo.ai, the 3D and AI startup transforming everyday product videos into lifelike, interactive 3D ecommerce visuals, is launching in beta form to the public this week – the firm has also announced the appointment of Roman Bromidge, a 3D AI trailblazer with the likes of Rebellion Games and Aardman as CTO and co-founder.

Bromidge joins Voxelo’s leadership launch team alongside Founder & CEO Vladimir Mulhem, the exited founder of Creative Content Works with 20 years in 3D/AR/AI with John Lewis, Next, Dreams and JD, and co-founder and CMO Ben McKay, formerly an executive at WPP and Wavemaker.

Previously, Bromidge co-founded Kaedim, a pioneering 3D AI startup backed by Andreessen Horowitz. He said: “I’ve believed in the potential of user-generated 3D since 2019, when I co-founded Kaedim to advance AI solutions that make high-quality 3D increasingly accessible. Since then, I’ve watched the technology advance while the solutions failed to keep pace. I’m thrilled to apply what I learned at those previous ventures and attack this new opportunity to unlock the value of UG3D for sellers everywhere.”

Voxelo’s User Generated 3D platform makes creating high-quality 3D visuals in ecommerce as simple as uploading a short video with no specialist skills or equipment needed.

Within minutes, users receive an embeddable, interactive 3D asset, enabling ecommerce sellers to get their customers closer to the product they are buying online, boost conversions and reduce returns with immersive product experiences.

The beta launch includes:

  • 5 FREE HD scans for new users
  • Priority access to upcoming features
  • Direct support from the founding team
  • Flexible subscription pricing for scale and experimentation

Voxelo is actively inviting Shopify, WooCommerce, Adobe Commerce, and BigCommerce sellers to join the beta.

“This launch simply wouldn’t exist without Manchester’s tech ecosystem – from world-class university partnerships to investor networks and grassroots support. We have a huge ambition and overwhelmed by the support we’ve received,” said CEO Mulhem.

McKay added: “Manchester’s tech and AI community is uniquely connected and generous. The momentum we’ve built here with this support is what’s helping us unlock the value of User Generated 3D for sellers of all sizes and budgets. We don’t think 3D ecomm CX should just be limited to the few but available everywhere.”

The public beta follows significant support from leading institutions such as The University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University, Manchester Digital, Turing Innovation Catalyst, The Exchange, Innovate UK, Nvidia’s Inception Program and Google for Startups.

Coming up next, Voxelio expects to launch Shopify integration for seamless no-code deployment, expand the UG3D platform for new use cases and features and deepen partnerships across categories like fashion, footwear, furniture and home.

Voxelo is a user generated 3D content platform designed to democratise immersive product visuals. By turning short videos into interactive 3D experiences, Voxelo helps brands drive better engagement, increase conversions, and reduce returns, all at a fraction of the time and cost of traditional 3D production.

Monthly subscriptions start at £50/month through to custom packages for large catalogue ecomm businesses, while plans include video to 3D scanning, hosting and the web viewer.
