Red Cow Media is a digital marketing agency based in the heart of Manchester. Their core services include paid search, social media marketing and their bread and butter: search engine optimisation (SEO). Over the years, the agency has worked with some of the nation’s biggest brands, picking up several awards in the process, including “Best SEO Agency” at the Talk of Manchester Business Awards and ‘Best Digital and Creative Business’ at Downtown in Manchester.
The company has also had several homes in their 12-year existence but currently resides on the buzzing King Street in Manchester City Centre, which suits Red Cow’s young, vibrant team to a tee.
“Most of our competitors are moving towards remote working. But at Red Cow, we still head into the office five days a week, and that’s because our team wouldn’t have it any other way. While our office is where we achieve great results for our clients, it’s also a hub of fun and laughter on a daily basis.” says Phil Ditchfield, Digital Marketing Director at Red Cow Media.
Where is it?
Red Cow Media, The Chambers, 13 Police St, Manchester M2 7LQ
How big is it?
The team has two spaces across two floors inside The Chambers. On the 3rd floor, you’ll find their team of 10 hard at work, along with a small kitchen to house the team’s pride and joy: the Red Cow coffee machine.
The 4th-floor space doubles as a meeting room and a breakout space. The boardroom table can seat up to 10 guests, with another small kitchen area to serve up refreshments when needed. On the other side of the room is where you’ll find the team once 2 o’clock hits on a Friday, with enough space for pool, darts and their very own beer keg.
What happens there?
It’s fair to say that no two days are the same at Red Cow, with the agency’s offering spanning across multiple services and industries. Culture is key at Red Cow, so whatever tasks are being completed are usually done so with a laugh. But when it’s time to work, the team’s results speak for themselves with their list of happy clients including worldwide brands such as Gymshark, Oh Polly and Boohoo.
“One team member can be in the zone writing content while another is crafting compelling ads for social. We’re big on collaboration too, so there’s constant discussion around projects and tasks between team members.” says Phil.
Why is the workplace appropriate?
“Our team is pretty close-knit and outgoing, so being based in the city centre is perfect for us. We’re surrounded by pubs, cafes and bars, which is where you’ll often find our team on a Friday once the working week is over.” says Phil.
“We also enjoy regular work socials, and being based in the centre of Manchester means we’re spoilt for choice. Our recent outings have included a karaoke night on Deansgate and an Irish pub crawl across the city.”
“In terms of the office itself, having two spaces works great for us. Downstairs, the team can work on our range of clients, whether that’s individually or collaboratively. Upstairs, account managers can check in with our clients over meetings, while we also use the space for internal strategy meetings.”
Who works there?
The Red Cow team consists of 10 members of staff, with a range of roles and experience levels, from directors to juniors and from SEO executives to paid social specialists.
