Rob Brown, the managing partner of MediaCityUK-based Rule 5, has begun his presidency of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.

Brown, a former chair of the Institute’s North West group, will serve for a year.

“Firstly, it’s an honour to be in this role.  I’ve a lot of time for people that have done the job before me and it’s my intention to continue their good work.  It’s actually a three year commitment.  I’ve spent a year as president elect, this year as president and then a further year on the board as past President.  I hope in that time I can demonstrate my commitment and give something back to the profession,” he explained.

“One of the things that I want to do is be open and communicate in new ways. Over the past year I’ve been to CIPR events across the country and spoken to many members about where they think the institute should focus its resources. I’ve put together an outline plan, which will form the basis for a three-year strategy.”

There are currently 10,000+ CIPR members.
