Rick Ward has been named as the Creative Director of Golley Slater in Leeds.

He joins the agency as it seeks to reposition itself from “Golley Retail” to “Golley Slater Consumer Brands.”

Ward’s career spans 30 years, including as Creative Group Head at Leo Burnett Hong Kong and Art Director at Publicis London. He was Creative Director at Poulter Partners in Leeds and Creative Board Director at Gratterpalm (now CreativeRace).

“I’m thrilled to join Golley Slater at a time when the agency is taking big steps forward,” he explained.

“Golley Slater has always had fantastic people, and a great can-do attitude. The chance to join the leadership team in Leeds and work on big blue chip clients such as Coca-Cola and P&G was too good to turn down! I’m relishing the challenge of moving our creative to the next level and developing the range of work.”

Emma Thompson, the Head of Agency added:

“Rick’s appointment comes at an exciting time for the agency as we become known as Golley Slater Consumer Brands to better reflect the sector we serve and the full range of marketing expertise we provide to our clients.

“Rick brings to Golley Slater a rich and broad conceptual and design background across a varied consumer client base. He is no stranger to managing large creative studios or diverse creative challenges. His appointment is pivotal to the leadership team, our vision and growth ambitions.”
