The University of Salford has announced a new partnership with Berkshire-based consultancy Marquis Media Partners (MMP) to deliver tailor-made packages of skills training and change consultancy to broadcasters across the globe.
MMP partners and associates will work alongside staff at the University’s School of Arts and Media under the new partnership.
“This is a significant step forward for both organisations,” said the School’s Dean, Professor Allan Walker. “As well as working together on projects, including a current contract in the Far East, we can jointly leverage our industry contacts to win new business opportunities.”
Emma Clifford, MMP’s lead partner for the initiative, said: “Salford has a great history of working with industry. It already shares its MediaCityUK campus with the BBC, ITV and Dock 10 and is fifth in the country for industry engagement.
“We believe we can help Salford build on that excellent record with the range services we can provide together. These will include developing new business strategies, delivering change management on-site, tackling workspace issues, helping to engage staff and providing great training.”
The University has extensive industry-standard studios, edit suites and broadcast facilities at its MediaCityUK building, and is also making a £40m investment in outstanding art and design, fashion, music and performing arts facilities at the New Adelphi Building on its main campus, opening in September 2016.
