Manchester’s Gobstopper Television has been commissioned by Channel 4 to produce a new daytime series where homeowners will pit their interior design skills against each other.

The 20x30min series, Your Room Or Mine?, was commissioned by Kate Thomas, Commissioning Editor for Daytime. The Executive Producers for Gobstopper Television are Ross McCarthy and Rebecca McLaughlin, the series producer is Kieran McCarthy and the series editor is Peter Jump. The series was produced in Manchester at Manchester Studios, post produced at The Farm Manchester.

The stripped format will see four pairs of homeowners, each with their own unique take on interior design, makeover replicas of each other’s rooms at Manchester Studios, before visiting each other’s houses to see whose winning designs were actually chosen and brought to life for real.

Ross McCarthy, CEO and Executive Producer at Gobstopper Television, said: “We’re thrilled to have finally won our first daytime series with Channel 4, made all the sweeter by having done so whilst pitching the show at a Channel 4 event in Leeds, the very first time a show we’ve pitched outside of London has made it to air.”

Your Room or Mine? is a partnership with retailer Hillarys, brokered through Channel 4’s sales office in Manchester.

Earlier this year, Gobstopper won a separate commission from the broadcaster for Surjury, a factual entertainment series in which a 12-strong jury decide whether contestants go under the knife.
