Steph’s Packed Lunch, a new Channel 4 daytime show from consumer journalist and presenter Steph McGovern, is set for broadcast from Leeds Dock when it launches later in September.

Earlier in the year, it was reported that The Steph Show was set to be based at the waterside location in front of a studio audience, before the COVID-19 crisis made producers decide to film the show live from the presenter’s own home. There were reports neighbours were unhappy and ratings did not meet expectations, leading the daytime series to be put on-hold in April.

Having been hired from This Morning in August, Vivek Sharma is the series editor for Steph’s Packed Lunch, which is set to feature “celebrity guests, fantastic food, intriguing real-life features and a mix of the best entertainment, lifestyle and consumer news making the headlines.” Big names lined up already include Gemma Atkinson, Chris Kamara, and Oti Mabuse.

Atkinson, alongside rapper Lady Leshurr and presenter Vogue Williams, will join McGovern in the studio each week to talk about the most salient points from the week.

The live studio audience at Leeds Dock will be made up of people from a range of different communities, and are set to be involved in all aspects of the show, from reviewing the news to chatting to guests. Chefs – including Jack Stein, Doctor Rupy Aujla and Bake Off winner John Whaite – will also be doing their bit in the studio.

Steph McGovern said: “Look at this team! This is one Packed Lunch of a show, full to the brim with loads of great items, people and food. We’re going to have loads of fun and bring the nation positive vibes in the middle of the day, all from our fancy new studio in Leeds. Thinking about it all is making me hungry to get started!”
