Smoking Gun takes the Tudors on Tour

tudorSmoking Gun has won a competitive pitch to promote Tudors on Tour, an outdoor family festival staged by Historic Royal Palaces, the independent charity that cares for six royal palaces including the Tower of London.

The Manchester agency be will be focussing on driving awareness in the build up to the Tatton Park event among families in the North West with an integrated PR and social media campaign.

MD Rick Guttridge said: “Smoking Gun has a proven track record of delivering bums on seats at events like this, due to our ability to implement stand-out creative campaigns that generate buzz.

“It is an honour to be working with the Historic Royal Palaces Media and PR team on such an exciting brief. Thanks to TV programmes like Wolf Hall, we’ve seen a resurgence of interest in the Tudor era. As both a history graduate and family man, I’m personally excited to be involved in this project.”

Recent PR activity from the media and PR team at Historic Royal Palaces includes the Blood Swept Land & Seas of Red installation at The Tower of London last year, to mark the Centenary of the First World War.

Historic Royal Palaces media and PR manager Catherine Steventon, said: “The weekend promises to offer a unique opportunity to experience all the splendour of the Tudor royal court on tour.”

The event, to be held at over the early May bank holiday weekend, will see actors playing Henry VIII and his courtiers taking up residence in the North West for the first time.
