SKV Communications has won a 5-way pitch to handle both the local and regional media relations for CITB, the industry training board for the UK construction industry.
The Manchester-based agency will be developing a “proactive regional media strategy” for England and working with the organisation to promote skills and vocational training.
“The stringent procurement process was designed to find the right agency to highlight CITB’s authoritative voice and clearly set out what CITB stands for and how we can support government,” explained external relations manager, Michelle Summers.
SKV will work alongside Summers’ existing in-house external relations team as well as regional staff across England to source stories for 9 core cities and 10 city regions.
“We are delighted that our analysis of the challenges facing the construction sector and our proposed solutions to the CITB’s communications brief was rated highly,” said Richard Bond, SKV’s director of strategy.
CITB is the industrial training board (ITB) for the construction sector in Great Britain. One of SKV’s additional roles will be to promote its 3 awards ceremonies including its Pride of Construction Awards which will mark its 50th anniversary.
