Newcastle’s Sunday Sun bucks Trinity Mirror’s sales decline

sunday-sun-1738721Newcastle’s Sunday Sun is the only of Trinity Mirror’s regional titles to see a rise in the sale of its printed versions over the last month, according to figures published today.

The Sunday Sun’s sales went up by 4.76 per cent on its January – June average. It was joined by stablemate Evening Chronicle which saw a fall in sales decline with of 4.33 per cent drop on the January – June average.

The figures released for the UK here also show that the MEN experienced less of a fall than the previous month and is now down to a circulation of 71,348 in September.

Among the northern titles, The Huddersfield Examiner, Liverpool Post, Teesside Gazette and Newcastle Journal fared less well.
