Lime Pictures secures TV option on The Love Hypothesis

Laura Steven

Liverpool’s Lime Pictures has secured a TV option deal with Laura Steven, writer of upcoming young adult novel The Love Hypothesis.

Lime will be working with the author to develop the book into an on-screen love story. The Love Hypothesis follows physics genius Caro Kerber-Murphy, who discovers a questionable scientific breakthrough that promises to make you irresistible to everyone around you

The Exact Opposite of Okay, Steven’s young adult debut, was published in March 2018 and the sequel, A Girl Called Shameless, was released in 2019. The Exact Opposite of Okay went on to become a best-selling YA debut novel in 2018, and won the inaugural Comedy Women in Print prize.

Louise Sutton, Lime’s Head of Drama & Young Adults said: “Laura is a fiercely funny feminist, comedic author, journalist and screenwriter, who looks to shed light on many issues faced by young adults today. We are thrilled to be working on bringing Laura’s LGBTQ+ rom-com “The Love Hypothesis” to the screen.”
