Reach signs new deal with YM Group

Yorkshire printing firm, YM Group, has signed an extended printing contract with Reach PLC.

It means the company, which has operations in York, Scarborough, Leeds and Wakefield will be Reach’s largest magazine supplier.

“We very much appreciate the further trust Reach plc has placed in YM Group, enabling us to become their major magazine printer in a relatively short space of time,” said James Povey, Group Publications Director at YM Group.

The new deal will see New! Magazine’s newsstand and multipack editions moving to YM Chanty in Wakefield, plus Star TV will go to its York Mailing site.

“This validation by Reach plc really supports our Publications strategy. YM Group has worked extremely hard over the last three years to build such strong foundations and is committed to grow our market share into the future,” said Stephen Goodman, YM Group CEO.

“This strategy complements our long-standing commitment to the commercial, retail and direct mail printing sectors.’

The first issues began printing this week and follows the contract signed earlier this year for the production of two weekly magazines, We Love TV, for the Saturday edition of the Daily Mirror and Notebook for the Sunday Mirror.

YM Group also produces two Express Newspaper titles, Daily Express Saturday Magazine and S Magazine for the Sunday Express.

All of these had previously been printed in Europe.

“We are very impressed by the service provided and professional approach of the team at YM Group and we are looking forward to working together in this new phase of our partnership,” added Graham Poulett, Production and Distribution Director at Reach plc.
