A complaint from a Daily Mirror journalist has left to a Teesside company being slapped with an advertising ban.
Hartlepool’s Green Frog Enterprises attracted the attention of the journalist for its claims that an energy saving product added to an existing heating system could save householders 15-20% on their bills.
The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) ruled today that the claims were misleading and that the ads mustn’t appear again.
The ruling stated: “Whilst we noted the full trial evidence demonstrated energy savings and the partial trials suggest similar savings, evidence had not been provided to demonstrate that domestic customers could typically save between 15% and 20% off their energy bills.”
