Teesside’s Clicksco has appointed high-growth tech expert Gary Hsueh as its new director in a move to strengthen its foothold on America’s West Coast.

Hsueh, who is a founding partner at San Francisco-based private equity firm Catapult Capital, has previously work Conexant Systems and Cisco Systems and was a vice president in the technology investment banking division at Goldman, Sachs & Co, where he advised on over 20 M&A and financing transactions totalling close to $100bn.

It was in his more recent role as Vice President and Global Head of Search Partnerships at Yahoo, where Hsueh forged a relationship with partner, Clicksco.

Alongside founding partners Michael Levit and Rick Marini, Hsueh’s Catapult Capital has invested in Clicksco. Hsueh has also taken a seat on Clicksco’s board.

Hsueh said: “I got to know Clicksco really well while I was at Yahoo and I was impressed with the team and the business, as a whole.

“When John Rowe approached me about the opportunity I was very flattered and excited – particularly as I’ve seen how well Clicksco has performed over the years, across multiple geographical locations including the UK, UAE and India, and how our skillset at Catapult could mutually complement its growth aspirations.”

John Rowe, chairman of Clicksco, added: “Working closely with Gary at Yahoo meant that all-important trust was already in place and after meeting his partners and learning more about Catapult Capital, it seemed clear that together we’d be a force to be reckoned with.”

Established in 2009, Clicksco Group is headquartered from Dubai and employs around 150 people in nine countries.
