The Hut Group says it is creating more than 500 roles, “to help those affected by turmoil.”

The Manchester-based group said that it had seen a surge for its products recently, which meant that it could bring forward its recruitment plans from later in the year.

Matthew Moulding, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of THG said that they were hoping to help applicants in the North West who have recently lost their jobs as result of the economic pressures surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak:

“Some of the region’s biggest employers have had to make incredibly tough decisions in recent days, leaving a worrying number of people out of work at such a vulnerable time. Our message to those affected is that we will look to do whatever we can to help, and so we are bringing forward our recruitment plans. We are now hiring across our manufacturing and logistics sites with immediate effect. We need you and would be thrilled to provide you with a new opportunity at this incredibly challenging time.”

The online retailer said the permanent positions would be across manufacturing, fulfilment and logistics, with around 350 based in Warrington and the remainder in Poland and Kentucky.

It also stated that it was seeing “record demand” for its technology and operating platform and may also be announcing further recruitment.
