TBWAManchester launches in-house content production studio

TBWA\Manchester has officially launched its own content production studio, Sting Films.

Developed over the past two years, the studio is already producing over 400 films and animations a year across the agency’s client roster.

The studio was born out of a client need for AV content across multiple media formats, whilst maintaining creative quality and complementing the agency’s long-standing relationships with broadcast production partners.

Its key capabilities cover everything from live action filming and direction to post-production including editing, grading and compositing. 

Sting Films’ idents for Channel 4 Weather


Sting’s work includes episodic content for Alton Towers Resort, documentaries for Bombardier English Ale, Insta Stories for JD Williams, DOOH for Pizza Hut Restaurants and broadcast idents for Peckish bird food.

Fergus McCallum, CEO of TBWAManchester, said: “Our work for Peckish bird food showed how our ability to connect creatives with the makers at Sting Films created a cost-effective production solution for their sponsorship of the Channel 4 Weather, all without compromising on the creative product.

“Partnering with a stills photographer, Sting Films turned stock shots of birds into animated puppets that created the illusion of a slo-mo film, celebrating the love of every bird.”
