Newsquest has announced a new digital marketing operation aimed at SMEs.

LOCALiQ will represent the publisher’s full range of marketing and advertising solutions across print and digital. This includes digital marketing campaigns, SEO, lead engagement and website build.

“SMEs in the UK spend circa £7 billion on digital marketing in the UK, but it can be a complex landscape and they increasingly want good advice and data to help them get the best response from the many solutions available,” explained Henry Faure Walker, CEO of Newsquest Media Group.

“The acquisition of Reach Local enabled us to introduce a best in class marketing tech platform into our local markets.  Combining this with the expertise of our local consultants is providing an extremely compelling offer and our digital marketing business is now growing at pace.

“We believe we are very well placed to become a major player in this space, complementing and underpinning our strong local publishing business.”

Faure Walker added that there would be no change to the corporate Newsquest brand, nor the identity of its publishing portfolio.

The brand already exists in America, where Newsquest’s parent company, Gannett, announced it as a “data-driven marketing solution” to help local businesses. In its September press release, it stated that USA Today Network had been developing and investing  in its digital capabilities to deliver a “more simplified approach to marketing.”
