BBC Studios Showcase returns to Liverpool later this month, with a star-studded line-up including Sir David Attenborough, Professor Brian Cox, Riz Ahmed, Toby Jones and the new Top Gear presenters.

The annual event is the world’s largest international TV market hosted by a single distributor. It will premiere 440 hours of new content as well as featuring master-classes and co-production forums.

“Once again, we’ll be welcoming customers and partners from around the world, including one of the biggest delegations from China, to Liverpool’s ACC,” said Paul Dempsey, President Global Markets, BBC Studios.

“With this being our first Showcase as a joined-up production and distribution company, this year will be unlike any other as we bring together the best current and emerging producers, creators and pioneers across the industry with a unique and tailored programme of events.”

Sir David Attenborough will launch the new series of One Planet: Seven Worlds, while Professor Brian Cox will talk about his new landmark series, The Planets.

Top Gear’s new trio of presenters, Paddy McGuinness, Freddie Flintoff and Chris Harris, will host a premiere of exclusive footage from the new series of the show.

Also attending will be Oscar-winning writer and director, Steve McQueen CBE, who will talk about his first British television project.
