Alex James is moving from Hits Radio to take on the breakfast slot at XS Manchester.

James, who has been presenting shows across the North West for 15 years with spells at Key 103, Radio City and Century, will take over the show on Monday July 6th.

He said: "I can't wait to get started on XS Manchester Breakfast - finding out what's going on in our listeners lives, keeping an eye over everything that's going on in and around Manchester and of course with loads of the best music to start the day in the world's greatest city.”

James Wilson, XS Manchester Content Manager, added: “Alex joins XS Manchester at a very exciting time and we are thrilled to have someone with his experience and enthusiasm driving us forward at Breakfast. XS Manchester continues to live and breathe this amazing city's music & culture and with Alex at the helm, we are looking forward to furthering the success story that is XS Manchester.”

XS Manchester, which earlier this year survived a proposal from owner Communicorp UK to revamp it as a service playing urban contemporary music, has a listenership of over 132,000 weekly adults in the North West.
