The pair, together with other names to be revealed soon, will front the BBC One night live from MediaCityUK on March 13th.

Lineker has hosted the event since the first Sport Relief in 2002, and will be joined by Top Gear star McGuinness for the second time this year.

Other familiar faces including David Walliams, Davina McCall, Greg James, John Bishop and Gareth Thomas will also feature, as well as Rio and Kate Ferdinand, Paralympic swimmer Ellie Simmonds, Harry Kane, Jessica Ennis-Hill and Max Whitlock.

A multi-channel campaign has been launched to mark the announcement, created by Pablo.

‘It’s Game On’ aims to communicate how the charity is harnessing donations to assist people in need while also explaining how to get involved through fundraising.

Jo Cullen, head of marketing and media at Comic Relief, said: “This Sport Relief, we want to put the issues Comic Relief funds at the heart of our campaign and really demonstrate upfront how donations will be spent. Pablo has developed a bold, fun, creative campaign which rallies the nation into action with a sense of humour at its core, which is exactly what Sport Relief is all about.”

The campaign will span cinema, digital, social, OOH and partnerships in the build-up to the night.
