dock10 unveils new suite of cameras as part of £5m technology investment

MediaCityUK-based dock10 has invested in 15 Sony HDC-3500 4K cameras to “future-proof its infrastructure” as part of a £5 million technology investment plan.

The investment in the 15 cameras – plus a Sony P50 – has been more than £1.2m and will support 4K/ultra HD output as well as IP capabilities. Dock10 is upgrading its studios, post-production facilities, media storage platforms and the network that supports MediaCityUK.

John O’Shaunessy, Head of Technology Operations at dock10, said: “In seven years since we opened dock10, we have grown into a thriving creative community and powerful regional cluster. Innovative technology has always been part of the fabric of our business and we continue to invest in solutions that will help our customers to explore new creative and commercial opportunities.

Dock10 is home to productions including The Voice, Blue Peter, Match of the Day and A Question of Sport. Its studios and specialist post-production services are used to make everything from popular prime time shows to commercials and corporate films for leading brands.
