Sunderland football legend, Micky Horswill has joined Sun FM after his “sacking” from Star Radio.
The Black Cats FA Cup hero was originally part of the North East Legends line-up, but claims he was sacked at the end of last season by Malcolm McDonald.

Bauer Media has appointed Graham Bryce to the new position of Group Managing Director across its northern and Scottish stations. In this new role, Bryce will be responsible for what the broadcaster calls its Place Portfolio which includes Key 103, Metro and Clyde 1. 

Former picture editor Ian Day has been promoted to Assistant Editor at the Yorkshire Post and Yorkshire Evening Post. Ian was previously Group Picture Editor and will remain in charge of the picture desk at the Johnston Press owned titles.

Manchester-based Return On Digital has appointed Laura Thomas to be its first head of social media. Thomas has run her own agency, Auburnise, for the past two years and has also been freelancing at McCann Manchester as a social media analyst.

Kate Cocker is moving from BBC 6 Music to join Bauer Media's Key 103 as its new content controller. Cocker was part of the team that launched XFM Manchester, where her husband Tim currently hosts the breakfast show.

Liverpool agency Kenyon Fraser has strengthened its PR team with the appointment of three new members of staff. The company has appointed James Bates as PR director, Alec Doyle as account manager and Beth McKenna as an account executive.

Dan McMullan a former account director at Amaze and Peppermint PR has joined Transport for Greater Manchester as its interim head of communications and customer services.
In the new role, he’ll be responsible for stakeholder engagement and media relations as well as customer services and customer relations.

Henry Faure Walker, the former digital and business development director at Johnston Press has joined Newsquest as CEO.
The publisher's current CEO and chairman, Paul Davidson, will continue in the role of chairman.

Johnston Press has confirmed that Nicola Furbisher will become the new managing editor of Johnston Press Yorkshire.
Furbisher is a former editor of the Derbyshire Times and deputy editor of the Yorkshire Evening Post.
