James Sommerville, the co-founder and current group creative director of the acclaimed design agency Attik, has been appointed as the head of design at Atlanta-based Coca-Cola.

Former Coronation Street and Emmerdale producer Steve November has been confirmed as ITV's new director of drama. Yorkshire-born November will replace Laura Mackie, who is leaving the channel to set up her own company with Sally Haynes, controller of drama commissioning.

Lion Eyes and advertising producer Tony Smith have joined forces in a strategic alliance to expand the Manchester company’s advertising and brand video production division. Smith, who has clocked up 25 years in the industry and over 1,000 broadcast adverts for brands such as Bupa, The Co-operative, Next and Holland & Barrett, moves from PSA Films.

Lancashire agency The Write Angle PR and Marketing has added two new members to its team. Alexandra Blundell and Louisa Austin have joined as account director and account executive respectively and will work across various B2B, consumer and public sector clients.

Andy Mihalop, head of digital for Chester-based, has moved to MediaCom as the agency's new head of biddable media. In the newly formed role, Mihalop will oversee search and programmatic buying across the agency, reporting to head of digital Stefan Bardega.

Warren Butcher, the former managing director of Trinity Mirror’s North West and North Wales operations has returned in a similar role, at Johnston Press. He's been named managing director of its North West and Isle of Man region.

Susan Black has been named Liverpool Football Club's new director of communications.

She joined the club as head of internal communications in 2011, but since November and the departure of Jen Chang, Black has been running both its internal and external communications, on an interim basis.

Leeds agency, Brass, has recruited Paul Williams to be its new account director. He joins from East Coast Mainline, where for the last 5 years he’s been media and communications manager.

George Hinton, the new editor of the Ilkley Gazette and Wharfedale & Aireborough Observer says he’s looking to bring about new developments at the newspapers. The 34-year-old has been based in Yorkshire for much of his life, taking a reporter job at the Ripon Gazette after a short stint in London.

Vinney Ashurst, the man behind Morrison’s award-winning Let’s Grow campaign, has joined Blue Chip Marketing as its head of shopper marketing. He will take charge of the Manchester agency’s planning function while embedding a “deeper understanding of the shopper and retailer into every campaign the agency creates.”
