From new company directors being hired, through to the introduction of new executives, keep an eye on who is making a name for themselves in the North's high-growth sectors.

James Deeley has joined Amaze as creative strategy director from London agency TH_NK. Deeley, who has also held roles at Conchango, OgilvyOne, LBi and Framfab, will report to chief strategy officer Rick Curtis.

Rule 5 has appointed Miranda Wade as account executive. Prior to joining the MediaCityUK agency, Wade worked at Manchester agency PR Agency One, and before that worked as part of the Cornerhouse festival marketing and communications team.

Liverpool-based marketing agency Mint Umbrella has announced two new appointments to their fast growing team. Melissa Dilworth, who has recently relocated to the North West from the USA, becomes Mint’s new Head of Marketing while Stephen Clare has been appointed Social Media Manager.

Weber Shandwick’s Manchester office MD, Jo Leah, has been appointed Chair of English Regions and Wales for the company. Leah has pulled in support for the role from one of the country’s top communicators and lobbyists Jon McLeod.

UTV Media has appointed Dave Bethell to become the voice of all 13 of its local radio stations.
The two-time Sony Radio Academy Gold award-winner will provide voiceovers for all station imaging, promotions and trailers.

Tommy Nagra, the head of television, religion & ethics in Salford is to leave at the end of the year to become head of business development for BBC Birmingham.
It marks a return for Nagra, who started his career at Pebble Mill in the 90s before joining Maverick Television

Leeds-based digital agency Coolpink has three new additions to its team. The appointments follow three new business wins - from The Costcutter Group, luxury knitwear brand Needle, and the online purveyor of meats and grocery products, Farmison & Co.

Lancashire marketing communications consultancy Freshfield has recruited two new executives. Laura Cullen joins Freshfield as PR executive from Altius Group, a specialist brokers in business sale transactions, where she headed up the PR and marketing team.
