Wayne Silver has stepped up to become managing director at Manchester agency One Marketing Communications.

Silver has been at the company for 12 years as its deputy managing director and head of new business. Prior to that he worked for McCann Erickson, BDH\TBWA and Infogrames before launching his own consultancy Silversmith.

Polaris Media has hired former Insider and Business Desk North West business journalist, Tamlyn Jones as it begins “actively pursuing business leads in the Middle East and USA.”

The agency, which has offices in Manchester, Liverpool and Ellesmere Port, made the announcement following its latest appointment by precision machinist, Lattimer.

Fabric’s managing director, Daniel Atherton, is standing aside from the day-to-day running of the Manchester digital agency, to take up a new position of founder and innovation director.

Antony Eden, who was previously head of digital marketing at boohoo.com has joined Merseyside clothing retailer, Chums.

As head of marketing, he’ll be helping the firm to develop its digital offering and engaging internet users aged 60 and over.

UTV Media (GB) has appointed Tony McKenzie as senior programme controller for its stations Peak FM in North Derbyshire and Bradford’s The Pulse.

It’s a promotion for McKenzie who had previously just overseen output at Peak. He’ll now be splitting his time between its Chesterfield base and Bradford, where he’ll work with head of programming Jacqui Blay.

RealityMine has launched a client services division as it looks to cope with 100% growth over the past year.

The market research technology company secured a £600,000 investment from The North West Fund for Digital & Creative last year and now employs 30 people at its Manchester base.
