UM Manchester has confirmed the appointment of Mike Liall as its new Communications Strategy Director.

Liall joins from Dentsu, where he’s spent more than 7 years, most recently as Strategy Director at iProspect. He began his career at MediaCom North, rising to Head of Social media.

“It is a pivotal moment for marketing currently, with the evolving privacy landscape and consumer priorities shifting towards brands that demonstrate transparency and accountability, being brave and creative through communications has never been more important,” he said.

“I have wanted to work closer with creatives for a long time now and that’s why this role and McCann Manchester appealed to me.”

At UM Manchester, he’ll be responsible for “connecting opportunities with the wider agency.”

“McCann has all the disciplines under one roof, from digital to production with creative touching all. There is no other agency in the north west housing such a broad spectrum of capabilities and I am looking forward to working with some brilliantly talented people working in a very inclusive and team focussed agency,” he continued.

UM Manchester is part of McCann Worldgroup.
