Sundae to deliver regional and national campaign for Russell Maliphant Dance Company

Maliphant's Vortex

Manchester PR, events and social media consultancy, Sundae Communications, has been appointed by the critically acclaimed, Olivier award-winning, Russell Maliphant Dance Company to deliver the launch of the UK national tour of Maliphant’s next project Vortex.

Sundae will strive for both regional engagement and national impact for the national tour, which will see the company perform in some of the UK’s most prestigious dance venues over the course of almost a year from September 2022. Its strategy will deliver a bespoke creative campaign for each venue that engages the local and regional audience, but also aims to deliver a strong national impact.

Russell Maliphant Dance Company was established in 1996 as the framework for Maliphant to initiate productions and to work with his own ensemble of dancers. The company has since received two Olivier awards, three South Bank Show awards and four Critics’ Circle National Dance awards for best modern choreography, among many other national and international awards and nominations. Sundae previously worked with Russell Maliphant Dance Company on its 2019 Silent Lines Tour.

Tom McGarva, account director at Sundae Communications, said: “Silent Lines wowed audiences and critics alike back in 2019, and also garnered huge support within the media, so to have the opportunity to share the news of [Maliphant’s] latest work Vortex, and deliver the full communications campaign around its national tour, is something that fills us with great pride and excitement.”

Founded in 2011, Sundae produces high profile press and publicity campaigns for clients in television, film, festivals, venues and events, working with global brands, international broadcasters and independent creative businesses. Its recent and ongoing work includes campaigns for Glastonbury’s Shangri-La, Sounds From The Other City, Everyman Cinema Group, Manchester’s city-wide festival Design Manchester, London Short Film Festival, and live entertainment company Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG).
