Works in Leeds has designed two new trophies for FIBA, the world governing body for basketball.
Collaborating with Ottewill Silversmiths, the awards are 48cm tall and are crafted in sterling silver and gold gilt, with lacquered gloss paint details.
They will be handed out to the winning Under 19s men’s and women’s teams and are based on a “Rising Stars” concept. Works explained that the 5 points of the stars represent each member of the team, with the tall structure “reflecting the upward journey of the young players’ professional career.”
The Yorkshire firm also produced an accompanying launch film.
