Social Communications appointed to promote Leeds’ business

Social Communications’ Leeds office has been appointed by LeedsBID (Business Improvement District) to deliver a multi-project PR campaign.

The campaign will aim to raise awareness of the services the BID offers and enhance the positioning of Leeds on a national and international stage. LeedsBID was established in 2015 and is the largest Business Improvement District outside London.

The PR campaign will have particular emphasis on Leeds’ professional services sector as well as looking to bolster the city’s positioning and performance nationally and internationally.

Andrew Cooper, Chief Executive at LeedsBID, said: “At our recent AGM, we took the time to reflect on a successful year and an even more exciting year ahead in 2018. The AGM also gave us the opportunity to speak with our levy payers about areas where we can continue to improve and contribute to the city.

“The activity we deliver ultimately has an impact on the place shaping of the city. At present, Leeds scores favourably when looking at our people, products, programme of events and our prosperity. One area where we have some room to improve is our promotion – and this is why we have appointed Social Communications to help us promote the city and the number of new projects planned for 2018.

“We’re really looking forward to working with Social Communications and ultimately seeing more businesses participating in the BID activity.”

Pete Wrathmell, Group Director at Social Communications, added: “LeedsBID has already delivered some fantastic initiatives which have helped raise the city’s profile. Using our team’s collective years of experience, our job now is to raise awareness of LeedsBID within the Professional Service sector, ensuring more people in the city are aware of the support available to them.

“This is another great new client for our Leeds office and plays to the skills and strengths of our team. We have quickly become established as one of the leading communications agencies in the region and we are delighted to add LeedsBID to our growing portfolio of clients.”

The agency opened its Leeds office in November 2016 and has a team of ex-journalists and communications experts working with clients such as Bradford Council, Mace, Extra MSA and the National College for High Speed Rail.
