42.5 hours per week, flexible working day with ‘core hours’ 9am-5pm (Overtime is a rarity). 28 days (flexible up to 33 days with pro-rata salary deduction)

Job Summary

You’ll be working within our video team with a focus on the editing of video interviews for our university clients and show home video edits for our home builder clients. For the interview edits you’ll need to be skilled at creating a narrative from the questions that have been asked of the interviewee. Our Video Producers are great at what they do and will give you great content to work with, but you need to be able to build a story with your edit. There will also be times where we’ll ask you to help with the post-production of 360 virtual tours, full training will be given.

You will report to our Production Manager and work alongside our other video editors.

Key Skills, Experience and General Outlook

Positive thinking and willingness to learn will always be considered alongside experience and current skill set. To achieve the upper-level of the salary range you must provide evidence that you have exceeded each of the key skills required. If you don’t have the relevant experience and require further training to reach the required skill level, this will be reflected in the salary we will offer the successful candidate.

Key Skills

You will be an expert editor. We use Premier at RV, if this is not your “native” software but you are a talented editor that is willing to learn Premier, please apply.
Great understanding of video & narrative. You quickly get to grips with the message a client wishes to convey and you can develop the story during the edit.
Good working knowledge of Photoshop & After Effects

Experience

At least two years of experience as an editor in a commercial capacity, working on commercial projects.
Proven experience of delivering multiple projects within tight time-frames.
Previous experience working within a digital agency or video production company is preferred.

General Outlook

An energetic and positive approach to work.
You need to enjoy problem solving and figuring out the most efficient solution.
Non-smoking applicants are preferred as we can’t accommodate smoking breaks.

Future Progression

In the future we will have space for another Senior Video Editor (we currently have just 1). A Senior Video Editor is responsible for some of the more creative edits at RV (see our website), you’d be regularly asked to attend Creative Team meetings and would play an important role in the future progression of video at RV.

If you are a keen and able camera operator, in the future there may be the possibility for you to split your time between the office and location work.
