Moneta Communications has an opportunity for a Social Media Manager to join its growing team in its Manchester City Centre office.

With over 12 years experience in the sports betting business and a portfolio of over 50 websites, Moneta became part of the Betfred Group in 2013. Ahead of launching our latest website in early 2017, which will deliver the next generation of sports content, we are looking to recruit a Social Media Manager that will bring with them a thorough understanding, knowledge and passion of the social media landscape. The role is a new position and will play a critical part in delivering a strategic vision that will ensure that we are one the most creative and progressive brands amongst our competitors, in line with the company’s growth ambitions.

The perfect candidate will be experienced with managing a social media team, have an understanding of what it takes to source and create engaging content, an awareness of the different social channels and a proven track record of achieving audience growth, together with planning and managing a social media budget and implementing the relevant key performance indicators for reporting to senior management.


Devise and execute strategies to grow a target audience across key social channels.

Plan, implement and manage a social media budget, reporting on the performance of the spend based on key social metrics.

Create and develop engaging content across all channels – this will be achieved via a hands-on approach, in addition to guiding the existing social media staff and company’s team of sports writers; providing feedback and support when required.

Identifying and recruiting to fill the skills gaps that are required to grow the social function.

Managing paid social campaigns for channel growth and engagement.

Awareness and monitoring of new and emerging trends and technologies that will help support social growth.

Monitoring and benchmarking competitor activity to ensure we are always on par with the competition.


Experience, knowledge and understanding of managing a successful social media team.

Demonstrate the ability to grow audiences on the main social channels.

Hard working, with the ability to think and plan in a creative and proactive manner, whilst also having the ability to react quickly as the responsive nature of social often dictates.

A strong understanding and passion for sport is a must, it would also be a benefit to posses an awareness of the kinds of content that work best for a sports mad target audience.

The ability to demonstrate identification of trending topics and how that content is amplified across social media channels to create engagement.

Meticulous attention to detail that will ensure the production of high quality, original and unique content.

Excellent use of the English language and impeccable grammar.
