Bruntwood won the competitive bid to create Leeds Tech Hub within our latest development in the city, Platform. The Tech Hub will be a major step forward in Leeds’ ambition to be a leading digital city. It will support a community of tech start-up businesses networked to opportunities across the city and beyond.

As Programme and Partnership Manager, you’ll develop a tech start-up community within Platform, delivering a programme that creates new jobs and economic growth in the city while also playing an active role in supporting the wider tech community. You’ll be working with the Bruntwood team in Leeds, the wider business and with our other science and technology centres at MSP and Alderley Park. This is an exciting opportunity at an important period in the company’s development, we have ambitious plans to grow our science and technology offering, supporting the UK’s regional cities’ ambitions for their economies and communities.

What you’ll be doing:

Play a leading role in the Leeds tech community, helping the Tech Hub add value to the existing organisations and activities
Work collaboratively with the business community, the universities and public sector partners to grow the digital sector in Leeds
Support the Leeds Tech Hub business community
Develop an engaged and collaborative customer community within the Leeds Tech Hub
Support the promotion and recruitment programme for the Tech Hub, and be the primary liaison point for resident businesses
Support enquiry generation and prospecting activities for the Tech Hub and across the Bruntwood Leeds portfolio to ensure the centre growth targets are met
Ensure Tech Hub customers are directed to appropriate sources of support and are hitting growth targets
Support the finance team in the production of the Leeds Tech Hub accounts. Recording outputs and KPIs for presentation to external stakeholders.
Provide a credible and visible external presence for Leeds Tech Hub both formally and informally.
Support engagement and social impact activities with local communities
Working with the Community Engagement Manager for Platform and drawing on wider support from the business you will:
Lead the delivery of the Leeds Tech Hub business growth, and social events programme including associated budget and cost control, relationship management, effective promotion and ensuring the successful execution of events, supported by the Community Engagement Manager and Events Coordinator for Platform
Support the development of a strong brand for the Leeds Tech Hub events programme
Generate high quality external event bookings and increase levels of inbound enquiries working with the Head of Conferencing, Director for Leeds and other members of the Bruntwood team
Manage productive and collaborative supplier and partner relationships for successful delivery of the business support programme
Ensure highest quality event management and customer service procedures are in place, liaising effectively with Tech Hub customers, partners, and the Front of House teams
Effective promotion of the Tech Hub events programme to both customers and external audiences, increasing levels of attendance, coverage and feedback, and maintaining low drop-out rates
Ensure the collection and reporting of relevant data and outputs from events
Contribute to the development of the Leeds Business plan and reporting against it with a particular focus on delivery of and reporting on the Tech Hub business plan

Experience of working with tech start-ups and having a positive impact on their growth
Good organisational and planning abilities
Good commercial skills and business acumen
Comfortable presenting and speaking to both small and large audiences
Willing to think differently and try out new ideas
Ability to oversee the delivery of a high quality events programme
Capable user of technology, with a willingness to embrace new technologies
Ability to work in a structured business environment – e.g. able to run effective meetings, create minutes and action lists, and coordinate meeting follow-ups
Experience of using collaboration platforms (e.g. WebEx, Telepresence) is a benefit, although not essential
Undergraduate degree (helpful if Business, Computer Science or other related discipline) is desirable
Experience of working within or with the digital sector
Project or Programme Management experience is desirable
Experience of partnership working
Flexibility to support activities and events during evenings where necessary
