Our PR Manager will report to and work closely with the Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer and Chief Executive, focusing on developing and executing PR Strategy. Our company has a growing offering across the creative sector and continues to build some exciting corporate partnerships. The objective is to ensure Creative England’s position, thought leadership, expertise and services are understood across a range of regional and national stakeholders.

Our PR Manager will be a strong, strategic PR planner who is comfortable conversing and connecting with a broad range of stakeholders and mainstream national media. You will be creating and pitching stories to a wide network of journalists, which explains what we do and excites our audiences.

You must be able to demonstrate a flair for writing and a passion for the creative industries. The ideal candidate will have a track record of working strategically to devise and deliver successful PR campaigns. You will have events project management experience and thrive from networking.

SALARY: up to £45,000 pa dependent on experience.

CONTRACT: Full time, 2 years renewable.

REPORTS TO: Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer (CMSO).

LOCATION: Greater Manchester, MediaCityUK with 1 day per week in Bristol.

Your duties will be wide ranging but ultimately you will be responsible for:

Overseeing PR strategy and securing a wide range of positive coverage and exposure for Creative England across all areas of activity.

Proactively developing stories and varied ideas for our media targets.

Building and developing relationships with regional press and mainstream media across Creative England’s industry areas.

Work with the CMSO & CEO to engage and influence key stakeholders and partners.

As appropriate, build joint PR plans and activities with key partners and agencies.

Support the Chief Executive with building our thought leadership position in industry and ensuring consistency of our voice.

Promote Creative England’s agreed key messages to our people and partners.

Working closely with our Digital & Marketing Coordinator; promote campaigns and initiatives via social media channels.

Develop and oversee marketing and PR activity across tech, games, film and TV.

To manage media calls, press conferences and stakeholder events as part of wider communications activity.

Contribute, as part of the Marketing team to the development of Creative England brand and corporate reputation.

Contribute copy to marketing materials as and when required.

Undertake any ad-hoc projects as required by the management team.

Press & external relations professional who has extensive strategic experience and a successful track record of delivering high profile coverage.

Established relationships with national mainstream media e.g. The Guardian, The Times etc.

Demonstrable experience in organising events, liaising with suppliers, managing budgets.

Experience in delivering high profile media relations campaigns from identifying PR opportunities through to delivery of features.

Strong creative writing skills and a passion for the industry.

Enthusiastic, keen to progress, ambitious and an eye for detail.
Collaborative team player.

Politically aware – can demonstrate understanding of the political environment we operate in.

Ability to work independently or within a team responding to tight deadlines and adhering to strict budgets with the need for monitoring and evaluation.

Experience of working with talent and corporates across the creative sector.

Experience of working in or with public sector partners.
