Key Details:
• Full time position – 37.5 hours
• Based Warrington or London office
• Basic salary of £22,000 – £28,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
• Up to £10,000 a year bonus (discretionary & based on achieving key performance metrics)

Job Description

Knight Corporate Finance are recruiting for a marketing and business development manager. This role will give the successful candidate the opportunity to lead and shape the marketing and business development of a leading telecoms, media and technology (TMT) focussed advisory business. The role will be split between direct marketing to business owners and general marketing activity.

The key focus of this role is to generate meetings with businesses in the TMT sector that Knight has not yet met and support the directors in maintaining these relationships. To do this Knight runs a range of proprietary marketing events and literature, sponsors an array of publications / trade shows, and directly markets via email to businesses owners. The successful candidate will plan and lead this activity.

Knight was founded 7 years ago by Paul Billingham and Adam Zoldan with a focus on providing strategic advice focussed on M&A to entrepreneurs and owner managed business in the telecoms, media and technology sectors. The business has grown rapidly over this period completing 10 -15 deals per year with a deal value of £5m – £30m.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Business development:
o Planning and developing direct marketing campaigns
o Direct marketing predominantly via email and phone to business owners
o Building and maintaining relationships with banks, private equity, VCs, lawyers and other related professional services
o Researching potential target businesses to approach

o Development of marketing documents and materials
o Planning marketing events
o Social media management
o Website updates
o Drafting case studies and press releases
o Awards entries
o Marketing to the database including drafting a quarterly newsletter
o Market research

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a general marketing background or experience in business development, with experience of both direct and indirect marketing. They should have a creative approach to developing written communications, with excellent MS office skills. They should be confident, outgoing and a good communicator; both written and verbally.

• 2 years’ experience in either marketing or business development role
• Experience and knowledge in social media and digital marketing
• Good research skills
• Expectational MS office skills, in particular Power Point
• Confidence to call & email company CEOs / owners
• Good writing skills and creativity designing presentations

• Experience with using Adobe In Design
• University degree or equivalent
