An exciting, permanent vacancy has arisen within the Media department for a Managing Editor who will work closely with other members of the Manchester United content team to ensure that both content and final product are of the highest possible standard, and delivered on deadline.

Working in parallel with the club’s external print partners, liaising with their designers, subs and production department to maintain expected level of quality and ensure delivery of the programme is on time, you’ll be responsible for internal and external approvals and will be expected to build and maintain strong relationships with other club departments who have input into the match day programme. As well as overseeing the production schedule, you will also be responsible for writing and subbing programme editorial content.

The Managing Editor will also be responsible for editing and project-managing other internal club publications when required, including the Club’s annual Yearbook and related Season Ticket and Membership products, Tour publications and special issues when required.

Desired Skills and Experience

You will be a highly experienced managing editor or production editor with experience at a senior level on a national magazine. An expert in InDesign and other related products; you will be expected to ensure the delivery of our match day programme on time and to the highest quality. The successful applicant will be highly organised, with excellent people management and project management skills and a flexible and creative attitude. A strong interest in football is essential. Experience in the digital delivery of print products would be advantageous.
