Marketing Manchester as part of the Manchester Growth Company is recruiting new strategic positions to support the promotion of Greater Manchester on the international stage. As the brand champion for the Original Modern city, Marketing Manchester is responsible for shaping the city-region’s identity and promoting its ambitions and narrative to a global audience. This is a momentous time for Greater Manchester, as it seeks to capitalise on its current trajectory, including the opportunities presented by its ground-breaking devolution deal agreed with Government. The new roles will package the exciting story of Manchester – as the city-region builds towards its first elected Mayor in 2016 – by capitalising on its strongest assets, and promote Manchester to the world, to encourage people to visit, study, work and do business in the region.

This Head of Sector Marketing will support the Destination Director and lead the promotion of Greater Manchester as a place to do business at the very heart of the ‘Northern Powerhouse’; focusing on its strategic priority sectors including science, digital & tech, and advanced manufacturing to support international perception improvements and inward investment.

Taking a strategic lead, this role will develop, deliver and evaluate effective business sector focused marketing plans that promote Manchester as a place that excels at doing business in the priority sectors within key international markets (Europe, America, China and India). Delivering the priorities set out by the directors and the Greater Manchester Strategy (MGS).
