Wilmslow-based PR and events business GO:PR, founded by Stephanie Ledigo, has announced plans to expand into Ireland.

The agency will launch a celebrity agency and PR arm in Dublin with a special ladies day event in November hosted by Real Housewives of Cheshire star Tanya Bardsley.

Ledigo said: “There’s a huge interest in celebrity culture in Ireland and our brand of events will be perfect for that market. Now is the time to develop our offering and we can’t think of a more perfect place than Dublin, and we will be covering the whole of Southern Ireland.

“I will initially be based in Dublin one day a week while recruiting staff for upcoming roles.”

The 33-year-old started her events and PR business in 2012 as Ledigo PR.

She added: “My idea was to save the high street! I’d found that hairdressers and small businesses had no idea how to use Facebook and Twitter, they weren’t thinking of the potential online and I could see a way I could help with that.

“We found that the hairdressers started talking to their clients, bigger businesses and saying how good I was and it grew and grew on personal recommendation. I took an office, hired staff, and we started getting bigger and bigger clients.”

Clients include Neighbourhood and Victors, In The Style, Social Chain, the Couture Club, Arighi Bianchi, Pride Planning, Hanover Insolvency and Peckforton Castle.
