From copywriter to MD as Salience names new Board

Chester digital agency, Salience, has named its new board of directors, including new MD, Brett Janes.

It’s been a major rise through the ranks for Janes who first joined the agency (then Inside Online Marketing) in 2013 as a copywriter.

He takes over from co-founder, Richard Waters, who’s taking a step back from the day-to-day running of the business – but will remain on the board as Chairman. Co-founders, Andy Cooper and James Clayton will also remain on as non-executive directors.

Other promotions see Andy Jobber named Commercial Director and Lucy Jobber taking up the Operations Director role – they also started in entry-level positions in 2013.

“When I joined the agency in 2013 as an entry-level writer, it was impossible to imagine the agency as it is now. We’ve had to learn fast to keep up with the pace of growth in digital. Andy, Lucy & I have shared that journey from Executive to Director together so I’m confident in our ability to achieve what comes next,” said Brett Janes.

“We have ambitious targets for 2023 as we look to scale to the next level of growth. Expect a refreshed site and digital presence, a new training academy, and more global clients on the books.

“The last 12 months and what comes next mean that our staff are more important than ever. I am proud of the workplace and culture we have built, but there is much more we can do to make Salience the best search agency to work for in the UK.”

Richard Waters added:

“Salience has gone from strength to strength since our rebrand and adoption of an agile methodology in 2018.

“For me, it’s the right time to take a step back and trust that Brett and the wider team will continue to take the agency from strength to strength.”
