This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the award-winning and high-profile Policy@Manchester team, working in close partnership with researchers and staff across a leading international university.

You will play a hands-on role in delivering a new and ambitious impact and engagement strategy that aims to make a real difference to our institutional standing and profile among policymakers at all levels.

As one of three Communications and Engagement Officers, you will be part of a six-strong team that delivers an ambitious programme of policy engagement activity, utilising a broad range of approaches and tools.

With a strong understanding of the current policy environment, regionally and nationally, your responsibilities will include matching external opportunities with internal research strengths, campaign planning and execution, generating and scheduling content, delivering events, sourcing and producing blog posts, contributing to publications, and online and social media engagement.

You will need a keen eye for opportunities and policy windows – and have the skills, experience and confidence to make the most of them. You will need to ‘get out there’, be visible on campus and be comfortable giving professional advice and guidance to academic and professional support colleagues, including those working at a senior level.

You will have a strong focus on collaboration and building relationships, and you will regularly need to work as part of a project team – sometimes as the lead person. You can expect to work on high profile events with senior figures, mainly in the UK but also, on occasion, overseas.

The roles sit within the Communications and Marketing Team in The Faculty of Humanities, but you will work with colleagues across the University.

The University of Manchester values a diverse workforce and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.

Interviews are scheduled for either w/b 26 June or w/b 3 July.
