When ideas lead, great things can happen. Absolute is an integrated agency based in the North West of England that specialises in brand, digital and content.

We are looking for an experienced and highly driven commercial head to lead, develop and drive our new business, as well as working with our account management team to help drive and nurture opportunities within our current clients. This is a management role where you’ll be responsible for the profitable growth of the agency and will report directly into the Group Managing Director.

The agency works with a wide range of clients throughout a number of different sectors, with a strong focus on Higher Education, Sport, Retail & Tourism. Any experience within these sectors would be beneficial.

As Commercial Director, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Working in conjunction with the Managing Director you’ll be responsible for the creation of significant new business and growth opportunities on an on going basis across a number of sectors and marketing disciplines – brand, digital & content

Developing a quarterly sales strategy with the senior management team

Overseeing the work of the account management team, who you’ll work hand in hand with to deliver sector based marketing campaigns

You’ll also support the allocated pitch team throughout the pitch process supporting everything from timing plans to rehearsals, as well as leading the production of the pitch documents

Pitching and winning of new business for the company alongside the technical and creative teams

Keeping abreast of new technology, media owners and networks within the digital landscape

Attend networking events, talks, seminars and industry events to further the network of the agency

You will demonstrate:

Excellent organisational skills

The drive and energy to make things happen from initial idea to final pitch

Excellent written communication skills

Strong and proven background in business development, ideally in media or marketing

A problem solver with a proactive and positive approach, a natural and inspiring team leader and critical thinker

An existing network of contacts that would augment the agency’s targeting strategy

The ability to engage with a wide range of decision makers across an organisation

A highly creative approach and understanding of how to start meaningful conversations with a wide range of client side marketing roles

A strong understanding of brand, digital and content landscape

The drive, passion and ambition to succeed

High level of competency across Microsoft office suite and ideally Adobe Creative Suite (not essential)

Can make great fresh coffee

Ability to have fun while still working incredibly hard
