Are you passionate about delivering flawless technical solutions? Do you have a proven track record of spinning many plates and exceeding client expectations? Do you want to want to take your technical expertise to the next level? Do you want to be part of an exciting, dynamic agency with a portfolio of huge, revered clients?
If the answer to all these questions is “Yes”, then we’d love to meet you; you could be just the person to fill our vacancy for a innovative, rigorous Assistant Technical Projects Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, driven person to join our team and take their events career onto the next level by working within an established agency for some of the biggest client names around.
HGA is a successful and well-established integrated communications agency, founded on our award winning Live Events operation. Now in our 27th year of operations, we count many of the UK’s best-known names as clients and have built relationships that go back decades.
We boast a talented, award winning events production team and this role will work alongside our Technical Project Manager to provide support to that team. The successful candidate will work seamlessly alongside our live events producers, supporting them at every step of the process from pitching for new business through the delivery of every type and scale of event.
Your prime responsibilities are to deliver flawless technical solutions for HGA’s events, ranging in size from small-scale awards ceremonies to large-scale conferences. You will have a proven track record and a minimum of 2 years experience in delivering robust and innovative technical solutions.
This role would be ideally suited to an ambitious technician who wants to develop their career to ultimately become a Technical Project Manager.
You will be required to provide accurate, innovative and achievable technical solutions and equally robust budgets in addition to written specifications that will typically cover the lighting, sound, video, projection, staging, crewing and power requirements of the event. Experience of translating the chosen route into comprehensive technical (AutoCAD) drawings is not a requirement, but would definitely be an advantage.
You will advise the event producer of the implications that the inevitable changes that take place during its development have for the technical budget and other aspects of the technical delivery of the event, updating plans and budgets accordingly.
You will be hands on; equally adept at running small technical events on your own, as you are working as part of a technical team on larger events.
Whilst we have extensive stocks of our own technical equipment you will also have the responsibility to source and negotiate arrangements with third party suppliers who are able to deliver the highest standards at the most competitive rates when required.
Although the role is primarily Manchester-based there will be times when you will be required to visit our Preston site and clients at their premises, to undertake technical recce visits and, if required, to act as an additional on-site project manager/technician. You will also be required to keep HGA’s own warehouse of equipment maintained at all times, identifying any issues or need for additional investment in technical kit.
HGA has a proven record of investing in the talents of its staff and promoting from within, so this position is ideally suited to a candidate with ambition and the ability to progress within a nationally recognised agency and those are the candidates we wish to hear from.
