We’re looking for an enthusiastic film editor to join our talented team, supporting us in delivering our impressive and increasing portfolio of work.

Working as part of the wider creative team you will create and produce film and animation for our client projects and internal marketing needs. Contributing to the creative process you will manage material such as camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics and special effects to produce a final film or digital product.

You will be creative, organised and highly motivated to work as both a self-starter and as part of a larger team. You should be confident taking raw footage and producing deliverables in a variety of formats for web, social channels and television with a good working knowledge of the standards required for professional output.      

Good organisation and the ability to work in a structured manner are essential. You will thrive under pressure, relish a fast-paced environment and take interest in varied work from our diverse range of clients.

Glasgows is one of the UK’s leading event, digital and video agencies. We are based in Leyland, Lancashire and have a large and varied client portfolio and a well-established track record spanning the last 34 years, specialising in live events.

This is an interesting and varied position, ideally suited to someone who would like to progress their career and learn new skills, or develop existing skills, as part of their day to day work.

This exciting opportunity will provide the right candidate with scope to flex their creative muscle, learn from our experienced team of creatives and work with a range of high profile and interesting clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Interpret and follow a brief, assemble all raw footage, input uncut rushes and sound, and synchronise and store them into files
  • Digitally cut files to put together the sequence of the film and decide what's usable
  • Edit footage to create 'rough cuts' through to final film/products
  • Undertake encoding and duplication of finished film
  • Take responsibility for the delivery of the creative projects or elements you are assigned, often working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Work alongside clients, sub-contractors and members of the project teams, fully contributing, to the best of your ability, to the management and coordination of all aspects you are working on to ensure the project, its content and graphic components are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standard
  • Monitoring and prioritising your workload and schedule delivery of production elements to achieve the agreed deadlines.

Key skills / experience include:

  • A strong interest in the latest film trends and an ability to translate that awareness into film content
  • Methodical and organised approach
  • Ability to work as part of a team but, equally, the ability to use your own initiative to ascertain the best footage / soundbites / highlights etc
  • Use of editing and design software including:

            -     The Adobe CC Suite inc. Premier    

            -      Final Cut Pro, Motion, Compressor

The following skills would also be advantageous:

  • Experience producing graphics/animation/motion graphics
  • Microsoft Office / PowerPoint / Apple Keynote
  • Operation of camera equipment / filming

The post is based at our main office in Leyland, however, under current circumstances, the ability to work from home is required.
