PR & Media Manager - fixed term

The PR & Media Manager is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the Trafford Centre’s reputation via a strong PR strategy and excellent communications.

Principal tasks include driving consumer PR, issues and crisis management, facilitating on-site media visits and media relations.   

Key Responsibilities  

  • You promote our operational focus on compliance, communication, consistency and collaboration in all you deliver    
  • You support corporate responsibility objectives including personal support to community projects and activities  
  • You are an ambassador for the centre and for health and safety, and as such you will actively promote recognition for the team, the centre, and the wider business through your exemplary behaviour  
  • Promote healthy lifestyles and positive mental health and wellbeing, through workplace initiatives, promoting support and escalating concerns to relevant people    

Main Duties

  • Create, implement and develop the PR strategy and plan for the year, working with the wider team to ensure PR is considered for all relevant events, news stories and centre updates    
  • Draft and issue press releases, statements, press briefings and other relevant copy, ensuring the Trafford Centre tone of voice is maintained throughout all communications   
  • Manage the day-to-day press office, responding to media enquiries in a timely manner
  • Manage all onsite photography and filming requests, ensuring relevant processes and protocols are followed and chaperoning onsite media where necessary    
  • Maintain media database of relevant titles and contacts, building positive relationships with key journalists via excellent media relations    
  • Monitor, log and circulate proactive and reactive media coverage, creating monthly reports with key metrics    
  • Monitor social media and flag issues that could escalate and affect the company’s reputation    
  • Work with appointed PR agency on crisis communications to manage issues in an effective and timely manner, ensuring relevant stakeholders are also notified      
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders within the business via effective communications    
  • Work with the events team to develop and execute stunts/activations that will result in strong PR coverage    
  • Work with appointed PR agency to run the centre’s influencer engagement programme, building relationships with key local influencers    
  • Work with appointed PR agency on B2B strategy, ensuring alignment across channels
  • Work with appointed PR agency on national PR strategy    
  • Work with social media team to ensure PR and social content is aligned    

Key Tasks    

  • To form an integral part of the centre’s management team  
  • To collaborate with all team members to drive the delivery of the centre’s operational plan   
  • To comply with corporate policies and procedures    
  • To ensure compliance with Company’s Health & Safety Policy   
  • Duty management as required
