MIF invites great artists from across the globe to create extraordinary new work for the Festival, which is staged every two years at venues and found spaces across Manchester.
Our future home is The Factory, a world-class cultural space being built in the heart of the city, where we’ll present a year-round programme and artists will be able to develop work of huge ambition and scale that they might not be able to anywhere else.
As a Creative Artworker you will deliver print and digital artwork for the 2021 Manchester International Festival (MIF) as part of our in-house design studio. Working under the direction of the studio’s Head of Design and external Design Agency, North, we are looking for a highly skilled and technical artworker to join the team in a fast-paced environment. Your role will include producing artwork consistently across a wide range of campaign material and MIF projects
You will be working closely with the Studio Manager and will be confident to take a verbal brief and interpret this correctly into print or digital ready artwork. The ideal candidate will have strong typography skills and a meticulous eye for detail with comprehensive pre-press and production knowledge. You will be responsible for implementing design templates across all formats and ensuring all artwork from the design studio is of a consistently high standard.
Manchester International Festival (MIF) will return in Summer ‘21 with a celebration of international culture, innovation and creativity. Taking place between 01-18 July, the Festival could take on many different forms in response to a number of COVID-19 scenarios thus a flexible approach will be needed for any incoming roles, as the nature of job descriptions may change. As an organisation we are committed to ensuring the cultural sector is supported, if specific projects or workstreams are unable to go ahead that would adversely affect specific job roles alternate work within MIF will be found as far as reasonably possible.
We appreciate that this is a difficult time for everyone, at MIF various pastoral support routes are in place including flexible working and remote working options for all, additional support for those with caring responsibilities, and access to external professional support services with a focus on wellbeing. Flexible working, including part time and job-share options will be considered for all suitable roles.
