Strategy Director

Key Responsibilities:

Client Accountability

  • To be a trusted strategic adviser for our Tier 1 clients and take an active/leadership role amongst the all agency mix
  • To architect integrated brand frameworks and creative channel strategies across a multitude of channels including Print, Digital and OOH
  • Inspire the team to create thought-provoking and creative strategies that put insight and thinking at the forefront of our client response to brief
  • Create a compelling narrative to sell-in creative solutions that are grounded in insight and impossible for clients to walk away from
  • To be part creative and part realist, balancing the commercial objectives of the agency alongside the requirements and ambition of the client
  • Curate best in class presentations which have a clear narrative and actionable end for the agency
  • To be a likeable and inspiring presenter that demands a lean-forward audience in their delivery
  • The role will be responsible for servicing all accounts within the agency and may be required to work on new business opportunities as required

Agency Accountability

  • To turn sector insight into a strategic viewpoint that drives the credibility and reputation of the agency
  • To analyse the business positioning using a variety of data sources and work collaboratively across departments to "future proof" the business. Turning strategic opportunities into executable plans
  • To lead a cross-discipline team in creating new agency products, propositions and technologies that can solve identified sector problems
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and proactively provide considered insight, information and trend data on focused sectors to support the client service teams on delivering the proposition

Financial Accountability

  • Be part-accountable for driving sector growth ensuring all strategies developed provide commercial gain whilst existing projects run profitably, and that in-costs are in-line with expectations

Skills Needed:

  • Extensive industry experience in a planning or strategy role
  • Experience in managing the output and personal development of a team
  • Able to evidence the creation, development and implementation of large-scale integrated marketing communications strategies for blue chip companies
  • Experience in all key areas of marketing communications strategy. Specific experience in integrated communications strategy and brand positioning
  • Excellent project management skills plus an ability to multi-task proficiently
  • A mix of analytical and creative capabilities
  • High level of diplomacy and ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships both with clients and within the agency
  • Able to give and receive feedback that supports the development of the agencies creative work and improves the effectiveness of the creative ideas
  • Education to graduate level is desirable but not essential
