Project Manager (Exhibitions)

Due to ongoing growth, there is an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager (Exhibitions) to join the Prolific North team.

This role is a great opportunity to manage the complete project life-cycle of the flagship event for the North - Digital City Festival, an annual event that brings together thousands of people from Marketing, eCommerce, Tech, Retail and Media to share ideas, challenges and experiences. You will project manage our landmark event during the festival, Digital City Expo, and work alongside different businesses from the wider digital industry to add their events to the festival fringe programme. You might be required to also work on other small-to medium-sized projects.

Depending on the project, travel may also be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Completing the project work in line with the plan and reporting progress to the executive team; chairing regular project meetings to cover deliverables and update the team on performance
  • Management of customers, suppliers, media partners as well as internal project teams, utilising a strong understanding of stakeholder management to provide outstanding customer service to our sponsors
  • Leading and contributing to the generation of new content ideas; identifying and securing prominent industry and brand figures to appear in the event agenda
  • Working closely with businesses to help to develop a fringe event programme as part of Digital City Festival
  • Client-facing role where you will be working with the client and really getting under the skin of their brand to understand their objectives in relation to the project(s)
  • Being the main point of contact for exhibitors and sponsors, liaising with them to provide excellent customer service and help plan their exhibition stand
  • Liaising with suppliers such as exhibition stand providers, AV providers, venue and space only contractors to deliver a safe event on time and following a schedule
  • Produce event management plan to include risk assessment and health & safety considerations
  • Work with our marketing manager and editorial team to schedule key announcements year-round
  • Work closely with our sales team to understand sales ambitions and help to get deals across the line
  • Managing ongoing speaker liaison including creation of briefing notes
  • Event design and logistics
  • Identifying any potential risks to the project(s)
  • Budget management, including managing the P&L and monitoring targets
  • Event delivery as required


  • End-to-end experience as a Project Manager, preferably in exhibition production projects (please provide evidence of your previous experience and role)
  • Strong knowledge of the elements involved in creating a successful exhibition event
  • Good knowledge of the risks associated with an exhibition event and proficiency in health and safety management
  • Experience and knowledge about the digital, tech and marketing sectors in the UK
