The role will be split between our Preston and Manchester offices but will inevitably require much of your time to be spent onsite at our wide range of events that are delivered across the UK and occasionally further afield. You will have a high level of competence in the rigging and operation of a range of standard events production equipment such as audio, lighting, video and data. A general knowledge of all elements of live event production is desirable at this level. A knowledge/ qualification in health & safety, technical drawing (CAD) and logistics planning would also be advantageous in this position.
Within the role, budget management and profit margin control will be a key part of your day to day role here. Working with our wider creative team, you will require a passion to create and deliver the latest in stage set design, to include in our creative proposal documents. Logistics planning experience is also desirable as we can often have multiple large-scale productions taking place at the same time.
The role is client facing and so the ability to communicate clearly is necessary as is the culture that everyone at HGA shares of doing whatever it takes to exceed our clients’ demands. Within this position, there will also be a lot of people management, often managing teams of 20 or more staff onsite. You will be responsible for the booking of resource for each job and ensuring we have the correct team on each job.
The role will see you working to support our facilities manager to prepare and receive AV equipment at the Preston facility. Primarily, you will spend your time working from our Irlam (Manchester) head offices which is where our events production and other creative teams are based.
HGA has a proven track record of developing its people to meet their full potential; for example, our managing director joined the business as a graduate and now leads the entire business. There will be significant opportunity for personal development within this role, much of which will be gained working alongside our team of technical projects managers as well as the wider HGA team.
Please note that it is highly unlikely that anyone without a full driving licence would be able to fulfil the demands of this role and as with any job within the events industry, there is a requirement to work outside of the standard office hours when necessary.
You will directly report to the board level of the business on a day to day basis and will be supported to contribute to our pitches, create technical drawings and work on the commercial aspects of the role such as the preparation of quotations for the technical elements of our events.
In return we offer you a career within an award-winning team that truly values and invests in all its staff and looks for ways to promote from within. You will be working on high profile, fulfilling and exciting projects from the day you join us. You will benefit from a competitive remuneration package that includes sector leading salary and bonus, flexible working hours, a comprehensive range of other benefits including pensions, private health and insurance all delivered from vibrant offices with in-house resources and award-winning services.
