Ad campaign seeks more Savile abuse victims
Today’s editions of The Times and the Daily Mirror are carrying adverts urging any remaining Jimmy Savile abuse victims to come forward.The campaign offers compensation payments from the Savile estate with claimants being advised to register by 3 June to claim as much as £60k in compensation from the Savile estate, BBC and NHS. Individual claims will continue to be reviewed by lawyers for at least 12 months.
The advice features in today’s editions of The Times and Daily Mirror alongside local papers on the Channel Islands and has been sanctioned by the High Court following agreement between the executor of Savile’s estate, NatWest, together with lawyers for alleged victims, the BBC and the NHS.
Todate, 140 people claim they suffered sexual abuse at the hands of the predatory entertainer with the Metropolitan Police recording 200 separate offences.
Savile died in October 2011 at the age of 84 before being unmasked as a prolific paedophile.
