row-of-covers-till-feb-14Candis magazine has been revamped with a new look website at www.candis.co.uk aimed at men and women aged 35-65.

The Wirral-based publisher has expanded its ambitions from the women’s magazine which was previously aimed at 30, 50s and 60s to add topics such as parenting with the online edition.

Today they announced that the Candis magazine editorial team will now be responsible for online content.

An announcement to the trade via Gorkhana said:

“The new look website, aimed at both men and women aged 35-65, has been designed to be easier to navigate, and will see content updated daily across a range of topics including, health, beauty buys, finance, events, music, books, TV, films, DVDs, gifts, recipes and food products.

“They will be adding parenting and fashion and beauty online shortly. In addition they are currently sourcing home page weekly competitions as well as competitions via their social media channels.”

Candis first began back in May 1962 and celebrated its 50th birthday in May 2012. It claims to be one of the top ten best-selling women’s monthly magazines in the UK and has donated £54m to health charities.

Today sees the editorial team taking on the different areas including health-related content going to Editor Debbie Attewell while deputy editor Anita Comerford looks after craft and food content.

The magazine last year lost well-known writer and broadcaster Flic Everett who stood down from her role there as acting features editor in order to move full-time to roadrailandsea.co.uk.
